A man is in critical condition after being shot inside an L.A. Fitness in Glenarden on Thursday night, Glenarden Police Chief Regis Bryant said.
Police responded to a call for a reported shooting at about 8:45 p.m. in the 9400 block of Ruby Lockhart Boulevard, near Woodmore Towne Centre, Bryant said.
The shooting took place on the basketball court inside the gym, where several people were playing a basketball game, Bryant said. An argument broke out between two men, and one of them shot the other.
No one else was injured in the shooting. Bryant said no one has been taken into custody.
There were more than 50 people inside the building at the time of the shooting, Bryant said. The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating the shooting, Bryant said.
Earlier on Thursday evening, at about 5:30 p.m., Prince George’s County police officers responded to a separate shooting in the 600 block of Audrey Lane in the Oxon Hill area, police said. They found a man with gunshot wounds outside, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
