A member of the Devils’ “Woo Crew” hype squad said he was sucker-punched twice by a Rangers fan during Monday’s elimination game at Prudential Center.
After the Devils defeated Rangers, 4-0, in Game 7 of the first-round series, the alleged victim shared multiple videos on Twitter asking the public to help identify the man.
“Got sucker punched in the face twice by a Rangers fan, at my job, doing my job, celebrating a devils goal,” the Devils employee, Semaj McLeod, wrote on Twitter, including a grainy photo of the alleged attacker.
The alleged victim confirmed to The Post that he is a member of the Devils “Woo Crew” hype squad.
The Devils employee was hoisting a rally sign in the lower bowl following an Erik Haula goal in the third period, which gave the Devils a 3-0 lead, when the unidentified man hit him.
The Woo Crew member can be seen wearing a team sweatshirt that identified his employee status in videos of the altercation.
The alleged assailant, wearing glasses and a Rangers jersey, appeared to approach the Devils employee and swing at him before other people jumped in.
A Devils spokesman said the team was aware of the incident.
“There is no tolerance for that behavior at our arena, and we are investigating the incident to identify the suspect,” the spokesman told the Post.
The incident came after a separate altercation during Thursday’s Game 5 at the Prudential Center, when a Devils fan appeared to get choked out by a Rangers fan.
Monday’s win over New York marked the Devils’ first playoff series win in 11 seasons, while the Rangers were bounced in the first round after reaching the conference finals last season.
The Devils will face the Hurricanes in the second-round, beginning Wednesday in Raleigh.
